    I finished the season in 2K14 and Kobe became a MVP. I am very happy about it.

    I purchased the wrong NBA 2K20 key after it got removed from Xbox Game Pass. Codes useless to me but somebody in the UK should be able to redeem it.

    ‘Twas the night before 2k21

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 10:18 AM PDT

    'Twas the night before 2k21, when all through the house
    Not a player was shooting, not even in park;
    The controllers were charged by the console with care,
    In hopes that ez wins soon would be there;
    The redditors were nestled all snug in their beds;
    While visions of greens danced in their heads;
    And Mamba in his bag, and listening to Dame's rap,
    Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap,
    When out on the neighborhood there arose such a clatter,
    I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
    Away to the twitch window I flew like a flash,
    Tore open the streamers and threw up the sash.
    New Zealand players on the breast of the new-fallen shots,
    Gave a lustre of midday to objects below,
    When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
    But a Mamba edition my team player losing with fear,

    What NBA2K needs from REAL basketball standpoint! (former pro bball player analysis)

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 04:49 AM PDT

    Hello everyone and thank you for reading this text.(sorry if you find mistakes im not a native speaker)

    I have been playing basketball all my life and i played professionally few years in Europe .In addition,I love playing NBA2K (My League,My Career and a little bit MyTeam).

    The most intriguing thing in gaming is realism.A realistic game excite us plus give us that hype feeling.

    Is NBA2K realistic enough?

    BASKETBALL IN FEW WORDS NOWADAYS

    A read and react game,in which every team tries to create an advantage through numerous situations but mostly focusing on 1on1 situations and pick and roll offense.

    This is how i would describe it as briefly as possible.

    NBA2K PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

    First of all, i dont want to be negative.2K has been an incredible platform of basketball for a video game.However,they raised the bar so high and i expect them to take it on another level.This game should improve every year and instead the game has become repetitive and taking steps back.

    1) Spacing

    Spacing has improved but sometimes it takes away the fun.

    -You read a situation correct(1on1,pick and roll,post up) but your teammates decide to stand still inside the three point line doing nothing resulting in a mess.They should stretch the floor and then decide to cut if their player helps or stand there for the three point shot.Moreover,another prime example is when you post up and a double team coming (happens often in 2k20) you try to pass the ball but one player missing standing near middle of the court doing nothing instead of waiting on three point line stretching the floor.

    2) Pick and roll game broken

    Especially offline vs cpu there is no clear way to read the pick and roll situation.

    -For example,you read the situation correct and you try to shot a three point a contested 35% pops up when your defender is on you back or even stuck at the pick or something.Why?

    -Then,you try to go inside but the defender big man reacts so fast! You try a floater?good luck...without the badge you miss or you get blocked.

    - You try to fake the shoot and pass to your open big man. 2 things will happen.The ball will go out of bounds with that ugly animation or your big man will catch the ball and try to finish.Most time the defending big man will be there reacting insanely fast (even if you read correct when he jumped to block your shot) and contest.

    -try for a lob you need the badge or your big man needs it. its a 50-50 situation even if you read correct.the lob pass works i have to be fair.

    3)Lay up game broken.

    nowadays we watch guards attacking the rim with a various of moves

    -Euro steps, power lay ups,one step lay ups, floaters, runners and so on.

    try to do that you stuck with the player guarding you or the big man.

    -you read that your player is guarding your drive and you try to do a eurostep there is a little to none chance the game will let you to read correctly without the animation stuck.

    i could go on for hours

    4)game is repetitive

    I AM TIRED OF WATCHING SAME MOVES FROM EVERY PLAYER.

    you all know what i am talking about.. in and out move behind the back or cross , snatch back.. and few more.

    5)insane react from defense

    the defense moves so fast in order to cover close outs in order to recover a drive or a shot and that leads to contested shots and unrealistic situations in which even if you read correct you are not rewarded.

    -there is no close out defense where you can choose where you attack

    -bigs can play defense up to the three point line , in real life most of them are not be able to do that they will try to meet you at the rim or let you shot with their hand up.

    SOLUTIONS!

    1)MAKE THE REACTION ABILITY IMPORTANT

    -Reward the good reading of a play.Reward open shots and good passes.Take away the ability from big man to jump in succession for numerous times with that speed.Take away the ability from guards to defend the close out so good even if you pump fake they are able to recover so fast.

    2)Close out defense attribute

    -make a close out defense attribute remove animations and let the offense read where they should go. let both offense and defense risk and be rewarded from the choices.

    3)FIX SPACING AND TRANSITION OFFENSE

    -players should stretch the floor most of the time. 1 inside and 4 out. Let us adjust that if possible.Make coaching to matter and not random.

    -in transition offense wings should run at the corner and big man will have to run first to post up.Then the trailer should follow remain at the same line with the big man whether the point guard wishes to go left or right.Players should read the 2on1 or 3on1 situations correct and let defense react to that.Prevent them from stopping at the middle of nowhere and not follow the play.

    4)Hands attribute to matter

    -defense should be rewarded when using their hands effectively.however , it should be the second you take the risk and not be able to raise your hands and move like crazy all the time as it happens now.

    5)Let players have their own identity

    -tendencies should be fixed or the animations should change.

    the game is repetitive and it lacks creativity. Badges helped a little bit but most players are not effective in the game due to lack of having certain badges.

    Pascal Siakam, Jonathan Isaac and i could go on with the list. Their game is not the same in real life.They play terrible in 2k.

    THANK YOU GUYS, I REALLY HOPE THAT I DIDNT LET YOU DOWN AND I STATED SOME FACTS AND PROBLEMS OF THE GAME.FEEL FREE TO COMMENT AND POST YOUR IDEAS AND YOUR THOUGHS ON MY TEXT I WILL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER.

    Anyone worried about lack of bigs in 2k21?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 06:54 PM PDT

    Talking to a lot of my friends it seems like no one wants to make a center this year do to the attribute nerfs. The shooting glass lock build that was so popular last year doesn't seem very good anymore. Looking at the caps it seems like you're going to see a lot of small defensive and slashing centers at 6'9". Is there something I'm missing or do center builds just look crap this year? I had 3 centers in 2k20 but idk if I will make one in 2k21 due to changes.

    2k really finessed the stage players

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 01:52 AM PDT

    What the hell are those prices in stage? 500vc and 1k for 2's, 2.5 max for the 3's? What's the point of even playing stage with those low amounts.

    If stage players won't get the option to play real stakes in stage and park games pay just as much they gonna ruin the experience for all the park bums by abusing them

    NBA 2K21 Clothing Brands

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 11:04 AM PDT

    Things I've noticed so far in the 2k21 demo.

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 06:52 PM PDT

    It seems like they've made a few changes that should change the way you make your build;

    1) Strength matters this year. Last year it didn't seem like strength was a big deal outside of post play but this year it feels like you get more favorable animations when you have more strength when trying to get around your defender and when finishing around the basket.

    2) Stamina badges are going to be extremely important. Handles for days, relentless finisher, tireless defender and tireless shooter seems, imo, to be must have badges.

    3) Late closeouts and defense from behind seems like it's fixed. In 2k20 it would seem like someone could come flying out of nowhere, be 5 feet away from the sbooter and still get a 10-18% contest. In the demo when the offensive player got past me I got a 0% contest, like I should. Im not sure if chasedown artist would help but I'm happy about the change.

    Early 2k21 Access for non-New Zealand/Japan players.

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 02:44 PM PDT

    You can play 2k21 11 hours early (UK) by switching your location and region to New Zealand, it shows clearly on the store that it will then be available to you from 13:00pm UK time 03/9/2020 which is 00:00 04/9/2020 in New Zealand. I imagine it would work exactly the same in other countries.

    EDIT:I have only proven this to be correct on Xbox, unable to provide any evidence for PlayStation, I have seen videos on YouTube suggesting it will work on both so worth a try.

    Hope this helps, any questions just comment and I'll try my best to answer.

    The best build I’ve made yet. Badge spread of 18/7/13/20 and is 6”9 PF. Plays ridiculously agile as well as unreal under the rim and on defence. Any recommendations for improvements?
