Don't act surprised when nothing has changed in current-gen 2k21. Remember the 'new' park in 2k20? Probably best to put that 60 towards a PS5.

One of my pet peeves in 2K

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 01:05 AM PDT

I was just chilling playing 2s with my friend on 2K. We were streaking and then lost a game. For some odd reason the opposition comes into game chat and talks shit for no reason. Dude had the audacity to say I have a high win percentage because I'm getting fucking carried by my friend. In my opinion, getting carried means you're just not contributing at all on offense and let the other guy do the work. I'm just over here doing my isolation and keeping an eye on my teammate to make sure he's open or I just go to the rack. I don't like talking shit because that's not usually my thing. I tried to have a conversation, but the guy just wants to deep throat that mic. When I tried to do so, he wants to go up and say "I'm going to beat your ass in real life" when I'm just over here not threatening. I'm not scared. People who say that are just internet thugs and won't do shit. I know that this is out of the blue, but I'm just expressing how I feel about this community. I might not play 2K21 because of this.

    changing shoe deal?

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 10:29 PM PDT

so, i signed with puma thinking i'd be a trail blazer of sorts, but oh my god, i can't stand their shoes anymore.

if i piss of puma enough, will they drop me and will i get other offers from nike, adidas, etc?

also, is that glitch still around where the endorsement screen is fucked up after you change shoe companies? i saw that was a big problem here in this subreddit. and if it is, will i still be able to progress through endorsements, just not seeing the milestones?

sorry for the bunch of questions, just got back to mycareer after like a 6 month hiatus. thanks for the help!

NBA 2K20 simulates the NBA's next 80 years: Part 2 (the story of 2021)

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 09:42 AM PDT

LINK TO PART 1, THE 2020 SEASON

DISCLAIMER: You will find that this post is a lot more polished than part 1, and that's because I'm trying to make it easier to read for everyone. Comment on if you like the changes, ex. the use of bold and italics for the titles, and the use of more headings to enhance the narrative.

I took control of all the teams in the NBA in MyLeague mode and set everything to auto. I simulated the crucial games with SimCast and the rest I just simulated. Let's see, season by season, what happens in the NBA from 2020 to 2100. Believe me, there are going to be some surprises...

    A) OFFSEASON & BUILD UP

HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES: Vince Carter

    RULE CHANGES: None

DRAFT LOTTERY: Only two major upsets happened in the 2020 Draft Lottery: The Nets got the 4th pick when they were favourites for the top pick, while the Wizards lucked into that top pick despite only having the 5th worst record in the NBA last season.

2020 NBA DRAFT: SG Anthony Edwards was the first pick for the Wizards and starts out already at 79 OVR. PG Lamelo Ball was surprisingly only the 6th pick but will add a lot to the already impressive young core of the Pelicans. Center James Wiseman, the other player of the "big 3" in the draft class, joined the Pistons as the 2nd pick. OKC and Denver performed impressive steals with the 12th and 17th pick, drafting center Okongwu (77 OVR) and PF Achiuwa (76 OVR) respectively.

FREE AGENCY: Not the most interesting free agency, with all the top players choosing to resign with their teams. Anthony Davis (Lakers), Andre Drummond (Cavs), DeMar DeRozan (Spurs), Brandon Ingram (Pelicans) and Hassan Whiteside (Trail Blazers) all committed to long-term deals with their teams from last season. The biggest mover was probably Fred Van Fleet (82 OVR) who signed for the Jazz.

ONCE A BUCK, ALWAYS A BUCK: The biggest news of the off-season came in the form of 2-time reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak, entering the final year of his contract in Milwaukee, was surrounded by speculation as to his next move. However, Giannis put those doubts to rest, signing a huge 5-year extension with the Bucks, which will make him a free agent in 2025. With Khris Middleton also tied until 2023, this Bucks team is staying as is, for better or for worse.

POWER RANKINGS: The Los Angeles Lakers are entering the season as favorites ahead of the Bucks, according to Erick Boenisch. Last season's winners, the Dallas Mavericks, are only ranked 13th, due to a less-than-stellar run to the championship, which included 10 playoff defeats, a large number for a ring-winning team. It looks like the defending champions have a lot to prove, especially in a Doncic free agency year.

    B) REGULAR SEASON (WEST) :

THE BATTLE AT THE TOP: Aided by Damian Lillard's incredible scoring season (31.6 PPG), Portland won top seed in a tight 3-way battle with the Mavs and the incredible young Pelicans, coming of age after a poor 2020 season with the crucial addition of Lamelo Ball from the draft.

LA'S INJURY STRUGGLES CONTINUE: The Clippers once again found star Kawhi Leonard missing over 3 months in the season, only making the playoffs on points differential in a 3-way tie. On the yellow side, LeBron James broke his leg and also missed 3 months of the regular season, while AD also missed some games at the end. Having based their entire roster on the strength of the dream duo, the Lakers had a pitiful season without them, missing the post-season altogether.

NO SPURS NO: The Spurs tanked for a second consecutive season despite securing DeMar DeRozan for the next 5 years. They are in desperate need of a good draft pick to help DeRozan, because the rest of the team is not performing, and it's sad for one of the league's most historic franchises.

    1. Portland Trail Blazers, 52-30
    2. New Orleans Pelicans, 51-31
    3. Dallas Mavericks, 51-31
    4. Golden State Warriors, 47-35
    5. Memphis Grizzlies, 45-37
    6. Phoenix Suns, 43-39
    7. Los Angeles Clippers, 42-40
    8. Utah Jazz, 42-40
    9. Minnesota Timberwolves, 42-40
    10. Denver Nuggets, 40-42
    11. Houston Rockets, 35-47
    12. Los Angeles Lakers, 34-48
    13. Sacramento Kings, 29-53
    14. Oklahoma City Thunder, 28-54
    15. San Antonio Spurs, 22-60

    C) REGULAR SEASON (EAST) :

A NEW KID ON THE BLOCK: Lloyd Pierce's Atlanta Hawks are improving with each passing season and, led by Trae Young and Clint Capela, they had the best record in the NBA at 58-24. Their last championship was in 1958, could this be the year they break the duck?

THE COMEBACK: Brooklyn had a horrid time last season with a 12-70 record, but with Durant and Irving back from injury, they recovered to a solid 4th seed. Bad luck their first round match-up is against the defending Conference Champions though...

THE NEAR-MIRACLE: The Pistons, 25-57 last year and with no additions outside their draft pick, started the season 12-5 and led the Conference, with many wondering if they could shock the established order and shoot into championship contention. Alas, they didn't even make the playoffs, but they gave it a good shot, missing out by just four wins.

    1. Atlanta Hawks, 58-24
    2. Philadelphia 76ers, 55-27
    3. Milwaukee Bucks, 53-29
    4. Brooklyn Nets, 50-32
    5. Boston Celtics, 50-32
    6. Miami Heat, 46-36
    7. Cleveland Cavaliers, 45-37
    8. Toronto Raptors, 40-42
    9. Charlotte Hornets, 38-44
    10. Orlando Magic, 36-46
    11. Detroit Pistons, 36-46
    12. Chicago Bulls, 33-49
    13. Indiana Pacers, 30-52
    14. New York Knicks, 29-53
    15. Washington Wizards, 28-54

    D) REGULAR SEASON STATS:

    1. Best offense: Dallas Mavericks & Milwaukee Bucks, 119.9 PPG
    2. Best defense: New Orleans Pelicans, 108.3 PAPG
    3. Best differential: Milwaukee Bucks, 9.4 DIFF
    4. Best PPG (player): Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers) , 31.6 PPG
    5. Best RPG (player): Andre Drummond (Cavaliers) , 13.9 RPG
    6. Best APG (player): Lamelo Ball (Pelicans, rookie) , 9.0 APG

    E) REGULAR SEASON AWARDS:

    1. MVP: Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks)
    2. Rookie of the year: Lamelo Ball (Pelicans)
    3. 6th man of the year: DeMarcus Cousins (Trail Blazers)
    4. Most improved player: Willy Hernangomez (Rockets)
    5. Defensive PotY: Anthony Davis (Lakers)
    6. Coach of the year: Lloyd Pierce (Hawks)

    F) THE ALL-NBA TEAM

Luka Doncic (Mavericks, G) , Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers, G) , Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks, F) , LeBron James (Lakers, F) , Kristaps Porzingis (Mavericks, C)

    G) ALL-STAR GAME

THE GAME: Team Giannis 146-114 Team Stephen

NOTABLE INCLUSION: Brandon Ingram (Pelicans) was given his first all-star appearance on Team Stephen.

3PT CONTEST WINNER: Stephen Curry (Warriors)

DUNK CONTEST WINNER: Hamidou Diallo (Thunder)

    H) THE PLAYOFFS (WEST) :

FIRST ROUND: Portland and Golden State set up for a rematch in the semis after easy 4-1 and 4-0 wins over the Jazz and the Grizzlies respectively, while the young Pelicans sweep the Clippers to state their intent. Finally, the defending champs once again show their classic Game 7 resilience to beat the Suns 4-3.

CONFERENCE SEMI-FINALS: The Trail Blazers fought much harder than last season against the Warriors, but Steph Curry inspired the team to a big Game 7 win on the road to advance to the Finals. Unfortunately, the Pelicans will have to wait their turn, the now playoff-experienced Mavericks sweeping them to make it to their second Conference Finals in a row.

CONFERENCE FINALS: A tired Warriors team, devoid of energy after seven difficult games against Portland, come unstuck against the Mavs, who go to the NBA Finals with another 4-0.

    I) THE PLAYOFFS (EAST) :

FIRST ROUND: In the series' big matchup, the Bucks take on the Heat one year after their embarassing elimination in the Conference Semis, but this time they are well-prepared and take the series in six, as do the Hawks against the 2019 champions Raptors. The evenly-matched Brooklyn v Boston went to the Celtics in seven, while the Cavs almost pull of the shock of the first round, ultimately losing to Philly 4-3.

CONFERENCE SEMI-FINALS: Both series are decided on Game Six, as the Hawks and Bucks go into the finals with a chance to write history.

CONFERENCE FINALS: An exciting series unfolds between Hawks and Bucks; Giannis does everything he possibly can against an incredibly strong Atlanta roster to force a Game Seven. However, the Hawks utilise the home court advantage to win the Eastern Conference for the first time since their relocation in 1968, and pour more misery into the league's undisputed best player, who's still yet to win his own Conference. Scenes of jubilation at the State Farm Arena, but the job is not done yet...

    J) THE NBA FINALS :

Trae Young and Clint Capela versus Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. A city waiting for their first championship versus the chance to build a Dallas Dynasty. It was bound to be an interesting finals series.

The Hawks take the first two games, but the Mavs don't panic; Boston also held a 2-0 lead last season. They fight back and win game 3 to shift the momentum in their favour.

But to no avail... The Hawks keep a calm head after the defeat and outclass their opponents in the next 2 games. The series ends 4-1, as the Hawks win their second ever championship, and the first ever for the city of Atlanta, Georgia.

And so... the drought is over.

THE ATLANTA HAWKS ARE THE NEW NBA CHAMPIONS!!!

Can you take team chemistry off, in the middle of a season in NBA 2K20 MyLeague?
