My whole team left at the start, so I had no choice but to drop a 60-20-10 Triple Double.

For my sanity, PLEASE incorporate some sort of SBMM in the 2k21 rec.

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 10:37 PM PDT

2k headquarters must've been robbed lately, because the amount of rookie / amateur rep players I've been running into the rec has been alarming. Now I know high rep doesn't necessarily mean a player is good. But a bad player that is familiar with the game is ten times better than a brand new player.

It's not even just the new players. There's players that do or SHOULD know how to play that decide to play horribly.

To remedy this, I think 2k should either incorporate SBMM, or rework the teammate grade feature and make it less forgiving. Players can troll all game long and not get kicked due to grading out. Currently players can give up 48 transition points just because they refuse to play transition d, take MULTIPLE contested shots over 4 players, refuse to pass the ball, sit out of bounds on offense and defense the ENTIRE game without getting kicked. It shouldn't be this lenient.

Force players to learn how to play good basketball. If players know that the grading system is less forgiving / lenient, wouldn't that be motivation to make that extra pass? To try a little harder on defense? To maybe not take this contested layup over 5 players while all of their teammates are wide open on the perimeter? All this would do is encourage better behavior. Also, a vote to kick option during timeouts or something? If 3 or more players on your team decide you need to leave it's probably for the better?

Idk. Rec is a terribly awful place majority of the time without 4 friends you know personally. I can count on my hands how many times I've gotten competent randys and I know I'm not the only one.

The 2k community might be the most stubborn gaming community out there.

The trailer isnt even out for an hour and people are spamming mike wang on twitter to change the shot meter even though they havent played the game for a second. How are we complaining about getting the same game every year but dont accept changes to the gameplay either?

I can already see it happening again. 2k21 drops. everyone has to learn how to play it which means they get pushed out of their comfort zone and instead of adapting to the changes, they flood 2ks and mikes twitter and basically force them to revert everything. And then in november everyones burned out because the game feels like last years.

I dont think criticising a game, especially a major flawed one like 2k, is neccesarily a bad thing but can we all at least wait until we have some badges? I want new things. I want to adapt to a new meta and a new gameplay

This game online is impossible for the causal gamer.

Its for real not fun to just get beat on 2 vs 2 constantly. Me and my buddy are 83 and 80, but literally can't compete with all mid 90s. There at some point needs to be a competitive rebalance that changes the matchmaking to be more even for the overalls. I have 4 HOF badges and still can't do anything against the vast majority of the mid 90s. Its not fun. It needs to change so the adults who work 8-10 hours a day can have fun as well.

2K NEEDS to get rid of MyCareer nicknames (or at least let us choose our own)

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 08:07 AM PDT

I don't wanna have to be Che, Freq or DJ or any other corny nicknames, some of them can flat out ruined the story for me, especially Che

Go play in the 2KU scrimmage. Closest thing to the bubble

If you guys want the bubble action without a PC mod, go over to the 2KU scrimmage. No fans. Just players and refs!!
