Advice for people having trouble with defense (clamps).

    Posted: 10 Mar 2020 01:26 AM PDT

How many times it happened to you that when u try playing defense your clamps does not stick and u get beat by drive?

Solution for this is to play on the hip of the ball handler, and position yourself on the angle little bit to the side of the man you are guarding.

Key to good defense are 3 things:

    • Positioning

    • Don't reach

    • Don't try to intercept

U do the last 2 things when u have high chance to successfully get the ball (different topic).

Try to defend with left stick most times with hands up.

Guard your man high (especially shooter) and chose which side u are willing to give him, they all do the same dribbles and try to hide behind a screen and get u stuck. U cant get stuck if u high above the screen, that is where giving a side comes in place so you make yourself the one who dictates where u want your opponent to go. Don't worry if u feel u are little behind u still have time to close out on 3. Dribblers often want to zig zag behind a screen and if u are cutting of one side he will clamp himself 100% times because hes so used to his dribbling cheese he will do your job for u. If u need give 2 instead of 3 and always chase your guy of the 3pt line.

Clamps works better if u are on the side and hip, tap intensive D (LT) when u are close to his body, turbo when u want to catch up after u went over the screen and u are safe distance from him.

if u are little behind but still close to his side try taping LT-RT simultaneously (just like on the sprint drill in Gatorade training facility) and your clamps will work for you.

If u are defensive archetype HOF pick dodger does not work, silver is the safe spot.

But don't forget most important thing is positioning.

Always expect a screen and position yourself as best as u can, if needed pick your guy at a half court, make things difficult for opponent.

If u chase them of the 3 pt line u already played good defense.

Pro tip: If u already good at reading dribble moves and u know what animations he can get out of what moves try taking a charge, usually close to out lines and base line , that stuff is magic and your opponent will definitely be mad and embarrassed.

Back with more dribbling... this is how my games go when I’m not going for clips. The player I’m using is a 2 way finisher with a 68 3 ball

    Flashback MyLeague

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 03:51 PM PDT

I found this throwback 2004-05 roster made by Damonquinn44 and I've been having a BLAST with it. Damonquinn44 whoever you are, thank you!!!!! The storyline is that I'm taking over the 2004 expansion team and building them through the draft. I did some research on the original bobcats owner Robert L Johnson and found out that he lives in DC where he founded BET. Since there was already a team there, I decided to base the team in nearby Baltimore and name them the bullets. The color scheme is orange and black and it's HEAT. Year 1: I trade Emeka Okafor for Jamal Crawford. Gilbert Arenas wins MVP scoring 42 goddamn points per game. Bulls win the chip on the backs of luol Deng, Ben Gordon and Tyson Chandler. I draft Deron Williams third overall, also selecting Andrew bogut in the second round (he was drafted 1st overall in real life??) I sign Caron Butler to be a reliable 3 and D player. Heat sign Baron Davis to form a NASTY big 3. Rockets sign Joe Johnson AND Vince Carter to assemble easily the greatest team ever. Wizards sign Peja to team up with Arenas. Year 2: still trash. Rockets go 74-8 en route to a championship despite iso Joe rupturing his Achilles in the Wcf vs Denver. I draft Lamarcus aldridge and Paul Millsap and sign JR Smith Nets sign Allen Iverson to team up with Kidd. Year 3: getting better. Around 35 wins. Rockets steamroll to another title with Tmac, Vince, Joe and Yao. I draft Marc gasol in the first round. KG leaves Minnesota for Miami and shaq leaves Miami for boston. Year 4: at the deadline I'm sitting at 28-26 and the 8th seed in the East. Looking for a playoff push with a pile of draft capital at my disposal, I send 6moy lock Jamal Crawford and Kendrick Perkins along with 3 first rounders to Utah for Matt harpring and a prime AK47!!! Did I win this trade?

2k needs to make the game cross play

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 07:36 PM PDT

It's 2020 and cross play is becoming the norm for big time shooters. 2k needs to take our VC money and use it for something better than the same re hashed game every year.

Is there still a 3pt rating that boosts you a lot like getting to 86 3pt last year?

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 10:32 PM PDT

Last year the green window was much better for those at 86, is it still the same this year or it doesn't matter?
