    Okay 2k WTF....

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 02:51 PM PST

I'm sorry but this is completely unacceptable. Just last year your interior defense determined your contest rating, but now it's your block rating and we're just now finding this out?

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 12:19 PM PST

We're already doing this 2K? *For reference, Onyeka only shot 4 threes in season at USC*

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 03:33 PM PST

Lets talk about the wonderful and thriving "City"

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 05:36 PM PST

So for my estimation these developers have been working on this concept for two years, probably 3 if you count early stage idea and brainstorming.

Do we get an online experience that is rewarding and exciting to play?

    Nope.

Instead were stuck with a massive map filled with buildings, landscape and scenery that is utterly useless. It holds no value in relation to what the fundamental reason you play an online competitive basketball game...

    TO PLAY BASKETBALL

90%-95% of the map is rendered useless because there is no interaction with any of it and it holds no purpose other then to fill space.

2k has seemed to lose touch with why people enjoy playing or at least want to play their game. I'm sure most of us can assure them its not because we want to skateboard around a giant map and look at buildings that hold zero value. I don't play 2k online to buy skateboards and BMX bikes. The majority of us play to have fun with our friends and play against other people.

2k has spent way to much effort into focusing on part of the game that would only be an added benefit if the fundamental parts of online play were great.

Instead we're stuck with a REP system that is totally upside down. Gameplay issues that seriously make you scratch your head. An attribute system where someone decided that interior defense shouldn't matter while they were drunk at 3AM in the morning, and who knows what else lurks under the surface. A rec center that has largely been unchanged for 3 seasons paired with the new idea of being able to queue with 3 players and 2 AI's that are part statue.

And how can we overlook the affiliation/server dumpster fire? Why is 2k trying to use so many different servers when their is so few players on next gen? Use as few servers as possible and FILL THEM. Dedicate whole servers to 1 or 2 affiliation's. Make it possible to travel to other servers/affiliations. And once there's enough players across the board then you can join them under one roof. How hard can that be? I shouldn't join in and there be one park game going on across all four affiliations. That's just plain outrageous.

But hey, at least I get to marvel at the tall buildings.

Way to go 2k. You win again.

    Flop.

Seriously, take whatever guard build you made and try remaking it as a 6'7 pf. See how many extra badges you get plus access to a better badge selection.

So I was playing 2k15 (because why not) and I hit the sickest shot I ever hit in 2k

A proper showcase of the contact alley-oops in next gen...a very "BRUH" moment indeed.

Waited 20 minutes for a match on current gen so i could be matched up with the all-time insecure demigod squad

    Dribble God Exposed

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 01:49 PM PST

So much MyCareer stuff locked behind rep.

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 11:56 AM PST

I play 2k, and have since it first came out, as a single player game. I don't play any park, rec, pro am or the like. I like watching guys that can dribble like crazy, hit greens constantly and make crazy amazing builds but that's just not me. I was a bit confused when I realized so much stuff on MyCareer is locked behind rep (I honestly had no idea how to even get rep until I wanted to get an item for MyCourt and couldn't). So in order to change anything in MyCourt I have to play "PvP" games? In order to even get a skateboard just to get to the VC office faster I have to play "PvP" games?

My confusion with this is a LOT of people are complaining Rookieville is toxic and just annoying, but Ronnie and company have forced the group (as small as it may be) of us that wouldn't normally play there and have no desire to play there to play there. This is a recipe for toxic games that no one has fun in. If I don't eventually do it I can't upgrade MyCourt, I can't unlock a lot of animations in the store and I can't get anything from Wheels (I'm sure other stuff is locked behind rep I haven't ran into it yet).

I get making rep grind a thing, but why for solo players who just want to upgrade and never play park or any other version of "PvP" style games in 2K? Why can't MyCareer add rep even if it's really slow and half of what Park gives (which I understand is slow as it is). Seems like forcing people to play a part of the game they don't want to if they want to unlock stuff they can use in the solo mode of the game is a lose lose for everyone but what do I know.

The downside of the demigod PF

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 11:40 PM PST

So I got my PS5 yesterday and built a PF as most of ya. My badges set is like 17/22/20/17 . It is a nice build , I tested in rookieville , won every game (7games in total , 1v1 and 3v3) .

This build can do everything, and good in def as well . I actived my takeover easily in every game .( my take over is shot creating) .

Here is the downside of this kind of build I think , for everyone who wants to build this op player :

1- as PF , you can't have the circus threes badge . For someone who likes to show off (as tyceno) , it is bad that can't have this badge .

2- as PF , your animations set are based on big man , so you can't get some animations as gards can .( such as some pull up shoot , spin shoot)

    That's it .

I like the gameplay of 2k21 on PS5 , in general it is definitely better than 2k21 on PS4. I can finally play def with my skill .

( oh yeah , to rant , it is so sad that we europ players can't join beasts and nights affiliation now )

Why is there so much cheese every year?

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 01:42 PM PST

Can someone explain to me why there is so much cheese in this game? They clearly lied when they said it was built from the ground up because it's a copy and paste with better graphics.

Why is speed boosting a thing? I've never seen somebody chain 15 dribble moves and explode to the rim like happens in this game every play. The incompetent devs clearly understand that this isn't a real life mechanic but yet it has been here for YEARS. If anyone has spoken to someone in the know please enlighten me.

That's without even mentioning the absolutely broken contact dunks and alley oops which are UNSTOPPABLE. It's unbelievably frustrating playing this game having actual passion for basketball because this bullshit can't even be called a basketball simulation.

Quick Shooting Badges with moving shots

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 07:26 PM PST

I tested moving shots vs standstill threes and its a pretty big difference. I shot 6/8 standstill and got 2200 badge points, I shot 11/13 moving shots and got 6200 badge points.

This is the method I have been using to grind almost a full badge every 5 min my career gaming scoring 10-15 3s per game. Its important as always to shoot a high %. I had a game where i shot 5/7 standstill and 7/14 moving and it gave me the same badge progress.
