    Unpopular popular opinion:

If you're build has a 50 3 pointer, you shouldn't be able to consistently shoot the 3 ball.

Ok, but the real question. How did this ended uo being 40% coverage?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 11:46 PM PDT

Why can’t most people that play this pass the ball?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 04:07 PM PDT

Why y'all just love to go 1/7 and not even give the C or PF an opportunity to shoot? I swear it's like none of y'all ever heard of passing or just playing good team ball

Unpopular opinion. Takeover should be taken out of the game.

Every single one just leads to annoying cheese/animations. Getting elbowed in the post, stupid contested shots going in, people spamming to get steals and falling on the floor every time someone does a snatch back.

Wishlist: What I want to see in 2k21 MyCareer

    Posted: 23 Aug 2020 01:51 AM PDT

    1. Basically make "The Park" and "The Neighborhood" two separate places. You load into The Neighborhood where you have doors to the Rec, Pro-Am, Gatorade Facility, Ante-Up, Daily Spin, MyCourt, Workout Facility, and the stores, along with a door that takes you to The Park. So The Park is only populated with people who actually want to play Park. Also make The Neighborhood more compact, no one wants to run around for 2 minutes to get from one spot to another.

    2. Can't take credit for this one, saw it on another Reddit post but thought it was a great idea. In MyPlayer Builder you choose height before position. You choose your pie chart, then physical, then your height, weight, and wingspan, then your attributes and finally your position. Whatever height you choose determines what position you're able to choose, so someone who's 6'11" obviously can't be a PG. So for example a red/green pie chart at 6'6" would get the same amount of badges at SF as it would at PG, where as right now PG's get the most badges which is why I think the majority of people pick a PG. I think this would reduce the amount of PG's in the game which is extremely toxic and makes matchmaking much harder in the Rec. It would also make people try out other positions that they might not otherwise choose, the more variation in people's position the better. I don't think anyone wants over 50% of people to be using a PG, which is what it feels like now.

    3. Also can't take credit for this one. Secondary positions. Not every PF is built the same. If you choose PF/SF, you won't be put in a Rec game as the center. Maybe you're a SG but you can't handle the ball and you're on the taller side so you choose SF as your secondary. You can only choose your secondary to be the position next to your own, so for example SF can only choose SG or PF, except in certain situations, for example SF that's a pure playmaker can choose PG as secondary.

    4. If you have a build that's max attributes and badges, you should be able to switch it out (one time) for another maxed out build. The badge and attribute grind can be a lot, especially for the more casual players, and if you get tired of playing with your build and want to try something new it would be nice to switch it out for another maxed out build instead of having to start all over. I realize 2k exists to make money and this would probably never happen, but it's a wishlist people.

    5. The Rec Center needs a major overhaul in my opinion. I realize this list is Rec heavy over Park but that's what I play the majority of the time so that's why. The Rec is fun but after playing 1000 games what have you really accomplished? No one even sees your record anymore. It's like you're playing meaningless games. You're just trying to win so you don't go down in overall (which I'll get to in #7). It would be more fun if you were playing towards something, anything (see #6). I think it would be awesome if you wore different throwback jerseys every game instead of the same boring black and white teams. Imagine a game with throwback Bulls vs throwback Pistons jerseys. It would just add variation and make the game more enjoyable in my opinion.

    6. The daily bonus is nice, you get 10 rebounds and 10 assists and you get 2000 VC. But what if there were also more long term goals to strive towards? Weekly goals, monthly goals, even year long goals, with better rewards. Grab 100 rebounds in the park this week and you get 25 rebounding boosts. Hit 100 limitless threes this month and get 10,000 VC. Score 10,000 points in the Rec in your career and get WHATEVER. I don't care what it is. Just give me something to play for. They could constantly be changing so you're always playing towards some goal. 2k runs the same promos over and over. Dime Time. 2x Rep in the Rec on Sundays. Court Conqueror. People get tired of the same promos over and over. Something like this would make it feel like there's always something more to achieve. If there's on thing on this list I'd like to see the most it would be this.

    7. The sliding 95-99 scale. Where do I begin? How is it that you can go down after your team wins by 40? If you're a role player, it's almost impossible to hold a 99, even if you do your job and do everything your team asks of you, you can still go down. You can hold your man to 0 points and make all 3 shots you take and win by 40 and go down. This has to change. You can say "not everyone is meant to be a 99, only star players" well then don't make it so easy to get to 99 in the first place! You can play MyCareer for 5 hours and get from 95 to 99.9. Then you hop in the Rec and do your job and you get penalized because you didn't drop 30 and 15. Or you could drop 50 points and your team sold so you get a 95.1. I also don't like how it's much easier for a big man to hold 99 because apparently rebounds are the ultimate value to a team. The whole system is whack and needs to be revamped.

    8. This might be an unpopular take, but I didn't like the way badges were done this year. So someone can get hall of fame difficult shots without ever shooting a fadeaway? I might be in the minority here, but I miss the days where you had to grind a certain aspect of your game in order to get rewarded with that badge. I felt accomplished when I got that hall of fame difficult shots badge. I think a hybrid system could be very interesting, where you get a certain amount of badge points for each category and you can max any badge to silver, and to unlock gold or hall of fame you have to earn it by actually DOING that in game. This would add a ton of variation to people's builds, and we might not see the same builds playing the same way all the time, you could have the same build as someone but play totally different.

    9. Build names. I think everyone can agree that these need a serious overhaul. How is a full green pie chart at 7'3" an interior force? Why is a Glass Cleaning Lockdown a full red pie chart who can only defend, rebound, and finish at the rim, but also a red/green pie chart who can drain threes? There's plenty of other examples of this too. I should know based on the name of the build what it is capable of.

    10. "G-League", but for Rep. So you may or may not know what the G-League is. It's when you play in the Rec but you're a 92 or below. You'll only get matched up with players who are 92 or below. I think this idea would also be effective if there was a separate lobby for people who's rep is below a certain level. There's nothing more frustrating than searching for matches as a solo and only getting teammates that are rookies and pros when you're an elite, and having to back out and try all over again. And there's also nothing more annoying than playing a god squad of elites when you're on a team full of rookies. I'm not saying elites should only play elites, but filter out the little kids and the beginners a little bit, it would be a lot more fun for everyone if beginners only played each other and experienced people only played each other.

    11. Get rid of the cages, no one plays that shit.

If you've made it this far, I appreciate you, and if you have any comments or suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Defensive rating doesn’t mean anything for the ai

    Posted: 23 Aug 2020 12:22 AM PDT

Going against Trae young, statistically the worst defender in the league, his defensive ratings are terrible but he plays the same defense as every other guard. 2k needs to fix this by making low defensive attributes actually have punishments. For example, a low lateral quickness rating should cause more blow by animations. So should low perimeter defense. Low interior defense should give bad contest animations. It's simple but really at this point all defense is the same. Also 2k needs to fix layups

I miss the good old 2k days. less sweats and more fun

    Posted: 23 Aug 2020 12:09 AM PDT

Is it just me or are all the causal gamers sick of all the sweats that are out there. I like many others go on and play park once or twice a week, and unlike the years of 2k16, 17 and 18 i can't just go out there and have fun and win a few games. Instead I face all these 12 year old kids who watch videos all day on the best ways to cheese. Everyone online now days knows every glitch and trick to win. I miss the days of sunset and rivet city where anyone could go online and get a win on the park.
