Do people on this game not know how to pass the ball??

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 08:07 PM PDT

This is my first installment so excuse me if this is common knowledge, but seriously, wtf? This dude was ball hogging the whole game despite literally not making a single shot. I was wide open at least 5 times, with many other chances with low coverage and I touched the ball ONCE. What is wrong with people lmao. It's like they do something that makes them lose and they say "yeah lemme keep doing that".

    What makes 2k unrealistic

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 09:21 PM PDT

The biggest thing I've found that makes 2k unrealistic is that shots that go in in real life don't go in in 2k. For example, layups in traffic is mostly how people score in the nba and just in real life. But in 2k, layup animations are so limited to like 10 at most, that they probably go in 0 to 1 time out of ten tries. Another example of this is stepbacks/hop gathers. Plus the player models are basically moonwalking one imaginary floor, so movement isn't realistic. And there's things like one dribble pull ups that can't be used in game because the ai defense is made poorly. Another big thing with this are dribble moves. The reason park players have to come up with all new speed boosting, moonwalking, iso moves is because regular moves that are used as go tos in the real nba simply done work in 2k. Hopefully 2k fixes these things to make the game feel more real, but until then, the game will continue to feel slow and robotic. Let me know what you guys think if you read this

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 11:15 AM PDT

pro am has been touched less in the past few years, then my balls during quarantine. there are literally no game modes , features, replays and other presentation stuff. this game mode is the same bare bones mode for years, and yet my friends still love it. if they put some things to do in it like even a feature where you can play like a season against other cpu controlled nba teams with playoffs and stuff. like show some effort you cheap jabronis

TL;DR of the 2K21 MyTeam Blog

    Posted: 21 Aug 2020 01:22 PM PDT

If you're too lazy to read the MyTeam blog or watch the MyTeam trailer that dropped with it, here's a list of the things that were in it. I've tried to break it down as simple as possible. If you have trouble understanding some of it, feel free to comment and I'll be happy to elaborate on it. I know I sound like a 2K employee right now but believe me, a part of me hates the game.

    New Features

    • Seasons/Seasonal content
      • More frequent prizing updates across almost every game mode in MyTeam
      • Completing objectives in the agenda will raise your Season Level.
        • At every Season Level, you earn some sort of reward.
      • Seasonal content updates includes, but not exclusively:
        • Additional gameplay content (Ex. Spotlight Sims)
        • Adding new features to the game
        • Rewards twist during the current Season
      • Each Season will tack on more prizes to the Triple Threat board.
        • Ex. Season 1 requires 300 wins to obtain the best/highest reward. Season 2 would add another reward to the board at 450 Wins.
        • Essentially, the Triple threat board will be updated/progressing with each Season.
      • 2K has specifically highlighted dynamic seasonal updates to domination.
        • "New tiers" of Domination will be periodically added
    • The Exchange
      • Basically incentivizes collecting cards
      • Trade non-used cards for cards that are actually usable/playable
      • No indication that this means you can exchange cards for cards that are in packs
        • It seems that the Exchange will have its own set of cards like the token reward player market last year.
    • MyTeam Limited
      • Unlimited with lineup restrictions such as only Ruby cards and below are allowed to be used or players that are 23 and younger are allowed to be used.
      • Win games for the chance to win a Championship rings.
        • After every game won, you get a prize that either be kept or traded in for a different unknown prize. It could be either be better or worse than your initial prize.
        • At the end of the Season, trade in the Championship rings you earned to get a tiered prize based on how many rings you collected.
    • Ascension
      • It's literally the same reward mechanic they had back in 2K17. Play games to earn picks in order to flip over the board for a reward of sorts. Also the board has tiers. And penalties that set you back.
      • While not stated, this could mean the return of the Blacktop mode to MyTeam.

    Quality Of Life Fixes

    • Added a screen that tells you what the current reward pool is in TTO for every board tier
    • The ability to tag agenda/dynamic goals so that you can see and check what you need to do while you play

    Returning Features

    • Yes, contracts are still a thing.
    • MyTeam Unlimited returns
      • Based on the reading, looks like 2K will be utilizing some reward system that is a mix of the Unlimited system from last year and the Play Now tier system.
        • iirc it's more like a modified return of 2K16's Road to the Playoffs
      • Win a specified amount of games (as required by the league you are in) in order to advance to the next one. If you struggle, you can also win enough games to avoid demotion.
      • Win the top league and you get the Unlimited Grand Prize for that Season.
    • Evo cards but evolutions are customizable
      • Branching system. Ex. Choose to upgrade the defense or athleticism of Shaq.
      • How a user does evolutions can now have restrictions.
        • Ex. You can only complete Shaq's defensive Evo by playing on certain modes or on certain difficulties.
        • Note that this does not mean there will be gamemode/difficulty restrictions for every Evo, only that 2K has the ability to do so.
    • Badge customization
      • Same as before, but you can now apply and upgrade badges to Hall of Fame now.
        • However, a player's eligibility for a badge will depend "on their archetype/playstyle".
    • Custom courts and jerseys
    • Card tier system appears to be the exact same*.
      • Bronze at the bottom, Galaxy Opal at the top.
      • *However, this may not be the case as Dark Matter could be a card tier.
      • Heat Check also appears to be a relic of the past now.
    • continuation of the 20th Anniversary/PRIME Series collection
      • Renamed to IDOLS Series and has been spotlighted as "THE premium collection".
    • Challenges
      • The only new thing is the Signature Challenges that are supposedly handpicked by the athletes themselves.
    • An exclusive ball
      • Instead of a fire ball, it's a Holographic ball this year.
    • The badges are Contact Finisher and Fastbreak Finisher are now confirmed to be back.

So My team doesn't put you agaisnt similar ranked?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 01:14 AM PDT

So. I know it's late but I thought I'd play My Team for the first time. Team is awful but I thought I'd get used to it before 21.

Always put up agaisnt teams with fully stacked squads? Doesn't take into effect my squad ratings?
