Just curious if anyone has ever broken the Wilt Chamberlain rebounding record on 2k20 yet? I finally beat it on HOF against the Nuggets, not gonna lie I did them real dirty... 56 boards (Had to repost I accidentally put scoring record not rebounding)

A comprehensive list of issues with NBA 2k20, and suggestions for improvement for the next game.

    Posted: 26 May 2020 02:18 PM PDT

These are all MyCareer/Park related as that is my primary mode

    • 100% Contested shots should not go in. Ever.

In the last week I've seen two go in. I posted clips on my profile if you do not believe me.

    • When a defender is behind or beside you, it should not be a contested shot.

I'm guessing the contest system is based on proximity of the defender, not relative location. This is a major issue because it prevents you from shooting when you have a defender simply near you. This makes absolutely no sense and should be tweaked.

    • There needs to be a matchmaking version of Park.

Pro am has a decent system, but even then I don't think its skill based matchmaking. My team gets matched against much higher rated teams quite often.

    • The neighbourhood is pretty, but incredibly impractical.

Yes it is cool to be able to walk up to all the different stores, facilities and courts, but it is a huge waste of time and hinders gameplay. This neighbourhood style of play is unique to 2k for a reason; because it sucks. You should be able to access everything in the game via a menu.

    • Events need to be handled better.

This is more specific to the Rush event, as it is today. There needs to be position based matchmaking at the very LEAST, as well as no teammate grade. It is far too difficult to increase your teammate grade but incredibly easy to lose it. Remove this from the event. As for other events, I'm not sure if it is already the case, but matchmaking should be based on event progress, for example in Formula 1 or Basketball Godz, you should be matched against people who have similar progression/streak as you.

    • Shooting on a non-shooting build should be more difficult.

Seeing players with a 35-60 three point shot that are able to green everything makes no sense. It is not accurate to basketball whatsoever and ruins the game when a player can not only get contact dunks and elite dribbling, but also have perfect shooting.

    • Contested layups should go in far more often.

In real basketball, contested layups are going in 90% of the time. Just Just because a center is standing still under the rim does not mean a guard should not be able to score on them. Now if they are playing proper D, then of course no, but the layup system is terrible.

    • The delay online is crazy.

How is it that an AAA game has such terrible delay? This is not an issue in majority of other games such as Call of Duty or Rocket League. I find it impossible to believe that the servers could not be improved by 2k. What doesn't help is the fact that when you're playing a game whether it be park, rec or ante up, there are 5-10 other courts that are in play which contribute to the delay. Hence why pro am has far less delay than any other game mode.

    • MyCareer is too simplified/easy.

MyCareer has the opportunity to be a fantastic offline mode. I started as a mycareer player and transitioned to park/pro am, and going back to it I find it incredibly repetitive and boring. You should not be able to pick a team during the draft, you should not be able to immediately trade yourself to a better team with no sacrifice. Make it more realistic to real NBA basketball. It is far too easy to become a starter as well. More games played earns you a starting spot even if you average garbage splits/numbers. Outside of the season, there should be more interactive events. The current endorsement events are all just cutscenes with no interaction. Being more creative with these events would be far more interesting.

    • Dribbling animations should be monitored throughout the year to avoid animation glitches.

We have all seen those players on park who abuse the behind the back, spamming left right left right until they have space to shoot. Now, I'm not a person who believes this takes no skill, because it does take time to master, but it should not be in the game to begin with. The speed and glitchiness of these animations make playing defense near impossible. Another major animation issue is hopsteps. With proper badges and speed, you can nearly fly when hopstepping and immiedately dunk. Why is this in the game? Hopsteps are never used in real basketball, especially with the athletic ability that 2k characters use it. It is a completely broken mechanic.

    • Bailing out of a shot should not be difficult.

Passing out of a shot in real life is incredibly easy. Why on earth are you required to have the bail out badge in order to successfully pass out of a shot? I know a lot of people hate the badge, but the hate should be on 2k for making it so overpowered. The badge should not exist in the first place.

    • Intimidator should be removed.

Another one that makes everyone mad but should not be in the game. A player standing under the rim should not cause you to miss wide open. Same with jumpshots. Ridiculous.

While I am complaining, it comes from a place of joy. I love 2k and wish these issues could be fixed. The biggest problem is the lack of incentive/competition for 2k. There is no one forcing them to make changes to improve the game as it is basically the only popular basketball video game (besides Live, but come on). Microtransactions are terrible and have taken way too much priority over actual gameplay and content, and that needs to change.

Why isn’t Ames the assistant coach for your team?

    Posted: 26 May 2020 05:53 PM PDT

It doesn't make sense, they make a big deal about the Ames/Che dynamic in the summer league then Ames just disappears, leaving us with the nameless bald assistant coach who is a simp for Che. Anyone else think about this?

Teammate Grade in a 1v1 is absolutely RIDICULOUS

    Posted: 26 May 2020 11:34 AM PDT

is it true this logo means theyre a nba player?

    Posted: 26 May 2020 10:44 PM PDT

Teammate grading needs to be harsher.

    Posted: 26 May 2020 05:00 PM PDT

My teammate just got 2 points. 1 rebound. 1 steal. 1 foul. 5 turnovers. Went 1/30 including 0/24 from 3. It took him until the 4th quarter with about 2 mins left to be graded out. Thats fucking ridiculous. Not only did his play cause people to leave but once they left it only got worse because he would just spam pass the ball so the ai would then he would just chuck it up with 3 people on him. He was able to play like that for 3 1/2 quarters and go fucking 1/30 with turnovers without being graded out. He wasnt even playing defense to get his grade up.

If youre constantly taking garbage shots with people on you or driving into 4 people in the paint. The system needs to punish you way more than it does. There is zero punishment to this and if you make 2 or 3 baskets then you wont get kicked.

There were 2 mins left in the game a guy went 1/30. If hes 4/30 hes probably not getting kicked. Its a joke.
