If 2k doesnt get rid of the Neighborhood next year they are just going to kill their playerbase

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 11:40 AM PST

Literally everyone hates it. I'm elite 1 and mainly play with randoms. I spend 30 minutes finding one game. Then there's no one waiting to play us.

Park for me literally consists of running all over to every court after we win just to clear the whole lobby. We dont cheese or anything. We just play team basketball

What the in the actual **** is this Big Top Challenge nonsense, I just wanted to play park why do I have a Berry Bonds head.

I hit a game tying shot to send it to OT, gave up the tying shot to send it to 2OT, then my teammate did this to win.

If a Bigmen is spacing the floor, pass him the ball

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 09:02 AM PST

He is sacrificing a lot of positioning just to space the floor and let you iso. It is also boring as shit standing in the corner as well. It doesnt hurt to give him the ball every once in a while.

Hell you might even rep up for it. Did you know assists are one of the best way to rep up in this game? And yet nobody wants to pass. Do yall not want to rep up and win?

I haven’t spent a dime on this game and still feel scammed just playing it.

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 11:07 PM PST

Got 2k20 from a buddy through GameShare on PS4, and holy shit is Neighborhood a hot pile of shit. You can't be competitive unless you spend 4 months grinding in MyCareer, or spend $100 on VC. There is no variety in the gameplay at all, you have people constantly just cheesing 3 pointers or using their 7'3 300lb centers just backing up in the paint and doing layups. How do you people that do that find that sort of gameplay fun or satisfying?

2k is one of the biggest scams I've ever seen. The fact that this is probably the most successful sport video game franchises really pisses me off. Sorry for the rant.

    This event was terrible

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 08:05 PM PST

With the event rewarding you with a backpack, there's going to obviously be a lot of people. What does 2k do? Have only 2 courts available. You have to fight for a spot and hope you get on. You have to do this 6 times and this takes a lot of time. Also with the fact that if you go through the subway, you can't get any games because of a glitch.

I honestly thought 4 hours was enough to do this event and boy was I wrong.

Was about to hop on later tonight, but found out the progress from earlier was reset and I only had an hour left...so I guess RIP my only chances of getting a backpack.

I made only 5 shots but my teammate has 7 assists. Someone explain?

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 11:37 PM PST

So I just had a REC game where a teammate literally put a rubber band on his controller so he didn't get kicked...

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 01:41 PM PST

The whole game this player just ran from one side of the court to the other side each possession change. He still had a C teammate grade till the start of the 4th. The only way our team got him kicked was by passing him the ball before he ran out of bounds. 2k definitely needs to make your grade drop faster or figure out a way to implement a team kicking voting system.

    My team unlimited

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 10:09 PM PST

Ok seriously what's up with this mode. My defense is NEVER in the right spot but my opponent is all over the place picking off passes and sliding from far away to heavily contest a shot while it seems my guys can't even get a play going because 4 guys are on me knocking the ball outta my hand.

And don't even get me started on missing wide open shots while the other team greens anything they want.

I'm mostly venting but would like any tips because my guys always seem to be a few steps behind while the other team seems to be fluid in anything they do.

    Best PF build for Park?

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 12:16 AM PST

The game is now free on Gamepass so decided to finally hop on. Haven't played since 2k17 but I typically play a lot of MyCareer but will hop on the Park with my 2 friends pretty often who are a PG and a Center. I would make a SF but I've seen YouTube videos saying that SF is the worst position. Can't find any builds on YouTube however that aren't confusing so I was hoping Reddit could help lol.

I know there are gonna be people who say that builds don't matter and play what I want, but back when i played at the park in the older games, we'd get destroyed by teams just chucking zig zagging, spamming dribbles and chucking 3s or Demigod PFs dunking and all that bs so I figured I'd just give into that because I can play any type of build on MyCareer, so I wanna base my build for the park.

Everything you Ever Wanted to Know about MyTeam Online

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 08:27 AM PST

    Hey Guys,

I have a little free time so I thought I'd write up an explanation on things to consider when playing MyTeam Online and just some general advice, for experienced players or rookie just starting out.

Let's start with the Matchmaking. Quite Frankly, it's rough. It has the tendency to match you up with people with a much higher overall than yourself, or against cards a level higher. For instance, a team of all Diamond players may get matched up against a team of pink diamonds, and so on.

If you're just trying to get to 12-0, you'll want to keep your overall at 86 if you don't wish to constantly get paired up with teams that are much better than your own.

    Secondly, budget cards.

These are cards that are very good relative to their price. The best budget cards are Diamond Bam, Ameth Lance, Ameth Shaq, PD Westbrook, PD Chamberlain, and Miles Bridges. There are others but those are the ones I come across most consistently online, again relative to their price on the Auction.

Third, it's never worth locking in.

Ok, maybe it is sometimes. But for most people ballin on a budget and trying to maximize their cards, it's never worth it lock in much because of all the resale value you sacrifice. I will say there are some where I think it can be justified if you're already pretty much set. Mark Eaton and Dwight Howard are both monsters and better than other centers right now. Other cards such as say, Zach Lavine? Not worth it.

Fourth, you need a tall starting or backup PG.

Yes online, everyone you run into will have one of: Magic, LeBron, Ben Simmons, and now Giannis at either their starting/backup lineup, or better yet a combination of both. Once you get to the high enough overalls and Diamonds/Pink Diamonds/Galaxy Opals, it's pretty much every game you face these guys. Every now and then you get a game against PD Westbrook, PD Wall, and PD Nash.

Fifth, when in doubt opt for the updated card.

As a general rule of thumb, the further you go back in this game, the worse the cards get due to being outdated. By outdated, we mean their stats and/or badges are lacking compared to their current counterparts. A good example of this is Pink Diamond Derrick Rose. When he first came out, he was my favorite card in the game. Now, I don't even have him in my lineup and Russell Westbrook is an improvement in every way, and goes for fairly cheap for a PD in the Auction House.

Sixth, Pay attention to the Money Badges.

The Money Badges are a term I just made up but it's something that basically means A) the badges important to your play style and B) the badges that are game changers. Personally, I always shoot for players that have the highest Clamps badge possible. Ranger Extender is a badge to consider when questioning if a card will be Green Light for you from the distances you typically like to shoot. Some people don't notice it, but Steady Shooter is an automatic No from me. It's supposed to make contested shots better, while making it harder to Green wide open shots. Don't like that one.

Seventh, it's worth getting a Diamond Coach for the attribute boosts.

I know, it sucks. I hate giving in to 2K's greed but you have to do it to play this game competitively online. Depending on whether you want to go Offense or Defense heavy, pick the coach that best helps your team accordingly. It's a game changer.

Eighth, I see a lot of "Who's Better?" posts on here, here's what I've found out.

In General it goes Galaxy Opal> Pink Diamond > Diamond> Amethyst, but that's not always the case. Lance Stephenson can compete with Pink Diamonds. Bam will give any center a run for it's money, etc. But in general, this holds true. So who are my favorite players in the game?

    1. Glitched PD Giannis - For one it's a 7ft PG who can Cash the 3 ball as well. There's nothing he can't do. He's a bully in the paint. He's long defensively. He rebounds with the best of them. He can shoot from anywhere.
    2. Galaxy Opal Mark Eaton - This may come as a surprise to most on here, but he's a truly under-appreciated gem that not a lot of people have because you have to lock in to get him. Well, at 7'4 he stands as a behemoth. He's extremely quick with lateral quickness, maxed rebounding stats, maxed interior defense stats, he's extremely mobile, and has all of the Defensive Center badges you could want. Now if you're like me and mostly use your Centers for defense, rebounds, and picks, then this is your man. He will outwork and out rebound Yao, Shaq, Bam, Hakeem, Wilt, anyone. If you mostly utilize pick and pops, or work offensively through your center, then avoid Mark Eaton. He's a defensive juggernaut, but average on offense with not many redeeming qualities.
    3. PD Glitched LeBron - Up until a few days ago, this was the best point guard in the game. It's LeBron... at point guard. What else needs to be said?
    4. Galaxy Opal Kevin Durant/Tracy McGrady - These two are damn near identical in their size and stats. They have an absolutely stupid amount of badges. There's nothing they can't do. And at 6'8, 6'9, they have good size and length to outmaneuver other forwards. I prefer McGrady myself because I feel Durant's shot is harder to green for some reason.
    5. All Star PD Kawhi Leonard - Here's something most people don't pay attention to in this game: the strength attribute. It affects every movement you do in this game. How well opponents stick to you, the ease of transition into player animations, how well you can take contact in the lane attempting to dunk, going up fighting for a rebound, etc. - strength is everywhere. This Kawhi card has an 85 strength. He has 50 badges, 34 of them being HOF. He's the most versatile defender in the game for me. His three point is 97. Driving Dunk 95. He's just an excellent card and great for off ball D if you're really struggling.

Honorable Mentions: Trying to reduce all of this game's best players into a top 5 is almost impossible. There are so many great cards to choose from, these are personal favorites, but not necessarily the best.

PG: Giannis, LeBron, GO Rose, PD Magic, Glitched Ben Simmons

SG: GO McGrady, PD Wade, GO Ray Allen, GO Jordan, GO Carter

SF: GO Durant, PD Paul George, All Star Leonard, GO James Worthy

PF: Frostbite AD, PD Rudy Gay, PD 98 Giannis

Center: GO Mark Eaton, GO Dwight, PD Shaq, Diamond Bam

    Ninth, Always sell High.

Cards in this game go down. With 4-5 months left until the new 2K, prices will go downward even further. Meaning if you pull a great card. Sell it immediately. Chances are you'll be able to turn around in buy it in a week for half the price. Giannis is going for 750K right now. No single card or player is worth that, get your money!

A lot of people ask about defense online and these are my recommendations: Always start off neutral and see what your opponent is doing. Then adapt. Mix it up with Man, 2-3, 3-2 zones. If your opponent is playing slow, utilize full court traps. If they are taking advantage of the perimeter, change the settings to No Threes and Protect the Perimeter. Mix up On Ball and Off-ball. If your opponent is playing cheesy and just trying to spam, let the computer guard him. When you get good enough, playing against the AI actually becomes easier.

I recommend picking a playbook from: Miami 13, Raptors, or Bucks, and finding a few decent plays you like, perhaps 2-3 with 2 of them being a play that sets up an open 3 for one of your players.

There you have it folks. That's my 2k wisdom for the day. I can try my best to answer any additional questions that pertains to opinions of who to use/ not to use.

My Slasher REFUSES to dunk (96 OVR, 91 Driving Dunk)

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 08:06 PM PST

My 96 overall playmaking slasher used to get 30 contact dunks per game, now all he does is weird reverse layups and floaters. I have both elite and pro contact dunks. I have Jordan and Vince Carter dunk packages on. My driving dunk is a 91. I have both HOF Contact Finisher and Relentless Finisher. What happened to my build? Why can't he just dunk??

    Timing jumpshots in the Park/Rec?

    Posted: 07 Mar 2020 08:39 PM PST

How are you supposed to green jumpshots with the terrible lag?

I can green at least half my shots in NBA games, but it seems no matter how much you practice it still doesn't translate to park/rec games in the slightest. Any tips?
