6’7 playmaker but I’m just passing and playing defense

I appreciate the effort to put historic faces into the game, I really do. But do they think that humans were evolutionarily different in the 90s?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 03:23 PM PST

Not a speed boosting playmaking glass cleaner went with 6'9 and he's a killer in the rec. Just wanted to show these similarities, I feel like they are a rare combination

The AI in MyCareer after you score 4 points

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 02:27 PM PST

If only I could do this with my myplayer.

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 10:56 PM PST

The MyPlayer Builder system was a step in the right direction but severley flawed in terms of uniqueness.

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 01:05 AM PST

So eventually is was not going to buy 2K20 as i found that there was a decrease in terms of how good the games were, compared to when i first started playing 2K16. I have been playing Park exclusively since then. However upon being sucked in the hype that the new MyPlayer Builder brought and how the Badge system works, i still bought the game this year. I think the MyPlayer Builder is really fun and ive spend hours just tweaking around with different pie charts and attributes to see if i could make fun build to grind out.

What i however realized is that the attribute point investments are really unbalanced and hinder uniqueness of builds, they are basically predetermined based on your position and pie chart. I will try to explain what i mean in the examples below:

If you want to make post scoring center, you get way more badges when you invest in shot close, standing dunk and post hook, while you barely get any for investing the same amount of attribute points in driving dunk/layup.

Same goes for guards who would like to build more around post moves in the playmaking category, you get way less badges for investing the same amount of attribute points in post moves than if you were to invest those in pass accuracy/ball handle.

A final example everyone knows about i think, is the necessary investment you make with every build in the defensive rebounding category, if you don't max that out you barely get any defensive badges. So when i built my 6'3 offensive threat pg, i had to invest in defensive rebounding in order to get defensive badges, whilest i never rebound with this build, since i run the fast break. I'd rather have the ability to invest those attribute points in block or even interior defense because those stats are actually useful for me playing defense. However i would handicap myself in the badge department if i were to do so, forcing me to pick defensive rebound to get the badge upgrades necesarry to play good d.

Try it for yourself, build a Center with Shooting/Finishing and invest 75 points in shot close and standing dunk and see how many badges you get. Now take those points off and invest the same 75 attribute points in driving layup and driving dunk, you get way less finishing badges if any at all. Same goes for that same build but try playmaking; pass accuracy and post moves reward you attribute points/badge upgrade ratio wayyy better than investing in ball handle.

2K basically has everyone stuck investing in the optimal stats in order to max out badges, which pushes 'the meta´ into a corner of everyone building the same players because of how the system works. My suggestion would be to change the system, so that every attribute point has the same badge upgrade ratio within the same category. (example: green/blue SG get 4 playmaking badges for investing 50 attribute points in either post moves, ball handle, or pass accuracy) in order to stimulate unique builds.

Feel free to discuss or prove me wrong.

TL;DR - Attribute points investment system is flawed because it only rewards specific stat investments, forcing you to pick certain stats which you may no even use: i.e. defensive rebounding on a 6'3 PG or Post Hook on a Big who would rather have higher driving dunk

    Ideas for 2k21

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 12:11 AM PST

    1. Eliminate the pie charts in general and just give everyone the same amount of upgrades to use, the caps will be based on position your player can't be better a specific think then someone else at your position. Ex. Assuming Jokic has the highest pass accuracy for a center whatever his pass accuracy is, is where center pass accuracy can max out at

    2. A one-time only option to delete a player and get all the vc back that you used to upgrade him

    3. A smaller park(kinda like cages) in which everybody has every stat 99, just kind of a fun thing to go to for when not trying to sweat and may keep low overalls out of rec. 2k can make it so this gives no mypoints, rep, badge progression, and maybe even no vc(this sentence is only here cause we know if there was progression there would be no way 2k would add it since people would be in there constantly and 2k would lose tons of money)

    4. Injury based mycareer story, the start would take place a few years ago, with your player being in highschool and college/euroleague, he gets drafted and in his first game(or preseason game since some will want to win ROTY) he gets hurt and struggles to find a place in the league

    5. Make myleague sim faster, it used to be a good speed don't know how it gets slower every year when there are little to no changes

    6. More than 1 court added to blacktop as well as players where they're own jerseys like all-star team-up rather than the black and while ballers and ringers shirts

    7. Rec rep system that's has matching based off individual stats, record, and teammate grade

    8. Advanced teammate grade system where stuff like help defense is encouraged rather than getting a "leave man open" or some dumb when playing smart. Scoring will actually affect teammate grade, I get if you only score your not being a "great teammate" but low assists numbers and very little passing should hurt team chemistry not teammate grade.

    9. Matchmaking in myteam that looks at best 5 players rather than overall so people can't run a bronze bench and get easy matches, while also not being able to run bronze starters and good bench to do the same thing

    10. Position locks stayed but I can still do dumb stuff, if I want to run muggsy bouges at the 5 I can

    11. Old roster user, be able to use roster from previous 2k minus of course the people 2k don't have rights to, it kinda sucks if I want to reset the NBA to 2000 I have to find a custom roster that'll even if good will still have mistakes and that doesn't the year is 2019-2020 so I can know what draft class to use next rather than having to look since, most of the people in the 2k supplied draft classes aren't even listed as rookies when drafted.

    12. Better rewards for Play Now Online, when going to the next league you might get a few thou Vc which is fine, but isn't worth playing the Lakers repeatedly to get, when you reach G.O.A.T you shou get like 100,000 vc or something that's worth it since now you get NOTHING.

    13. Actually incorporating the WNBA into something, I doubt people will use it in fact I'll probably barely touch it but, female mycareer with a park, female myteam, historic WNBA teams as well as all-time teams, a full myleague experience

    14. Ronnie being fired and someone else taking over whatever he does(I don't think hes the official community manager)

    15. Separate dribble systems, on the park and triple threat the dribble system will return to an old one whether its 19 or whatever, while mycareer, play now, and dominatation/unlimited it will keep the 2k20 dribble system minus the cheese behind the back. Do this to keep modes that are supposed to realistic, realistic and modes that are supposed to be streak/fun unrealistic

    16. I WANT TO THROW HANDS ON THE PARK

I'm doing this at 3a.m. so some of these ideas might be very dumb

    Rep Reward Idea.

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 12:15 AM PST

Happy New Year, y'all. We know it's a grind to reach Elite 3 and unlock the mascot costumes. So, I was thinking; maybe it would be kinda cool to have G-League and WNBA mascot outfits for lower rep levels (All-Star 3 for G-League, and Superstar 3 for WNBA for example since one is pro and the other is semi-pro). I know it's a reach, but I thought I'd just throw it out there for fun.
