Why Kobe WON’T be on ANY 2k21 cover.

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 11:47 AM PDT

This is just speculation. I don't know anything 2k's planning this is just an educated guess so people could understand better if they don't. Same reason Kobe's Galaxy Opal had to be earned not bought and the PD was free. They don't want to/can't profit of the death of Kobe Bryant. Imagine how much money they would make if they put Kobe on the legend edition cover. It would be the best selling version of 2k ever. It would be likely impossible for them to donate even a small percentage to Kobe charities and such. Only pointing this out because I'm seeing a resurgence in people wanting Kobe on a cover. Don't be dissapointed if it doesn't happen. My best guess for the Legend cover is Vince Carter. Same reason it was Dwyane Wade for 2k20. A legend retired. There you have it.

This is the year to not pre-order the new 2K!!

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 07:54 AM PDT

Im no fool and I know people will buy the game regardless of what the competition does, if anything.

Even if you are getting the game Day 1. Do Not Pre-Order!!

2K really showed they don't care and will put out anything with an arguably copy/paste 2K20 game.

With a New Gen and New Game is time for us, the consumers, to voice our displeaser with the continuing encroachment of MTX, the arrogance of the marketing "team" and borderline disregard of the community.

    Underrated MyCareer teammates?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 10:53 PM PDT

Just wanted to know who's been great teammates to play with in MyCareer that are pretty underrated. For me, it's gotta be Marvin Bagley and Hield on the Kings. My first season, Bagley and Hield constantly went off.

Tacko Fall the best cheat code ever

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 11:33 PM PDT

I started an online dynasty my dad and took Fall with my final pick just because I figured it would be fun to mess around with him randomly in games.

This is also the first 2k game I actually practiced and tried to understand stick shooting and the nuance of using sticks around the basket, still not great at it, but Mr Fall has put up a game with 60 points, 22 boards, 11 blocks, and 9 assists on the second hardest difficulty.

It was hilarious, but needless to say he is leading MVP voting and he's paired with decent shooters it just makes it even more fun.

Not to needlessly bring negativity over, but I will say this: I am so glad 2K supports their franchise/Myleague mode. I hope it never gets this stale/abandoned.

    Buying NBA2K21 for PS4/PS5

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 11:32 PM PDT

Hey, I got a question. If i'll buy 2K21 for PS4 and then I'll buy PS5 when it comes out. Do I have to buy the game all over again in order to play 2k in PS5? Thanks!

Advice for new 2K20 MyCareer Players

    Posted: 30 Jun 2020 10:36 AM PDT

Advice for players new to 2K20 (Now that it's free on PS4) (How to make your MyCareer build so you can have fun and not get stomped out by sweats)

Now that the game is free, I figured there should be a post that contains all of the useful information regarding how you should build your first player (because wasting your time on a build that can't hang with sweats is exhausting.)

BUILDS: While most unhelpful posts will tell you that "You should choose what best fits your play style," I won't let you be that naive. There IS a meta. Certain builds will stomp you out and beat you at your own game, even if it isn't in their pie chart. Look up build videos because they can be helpful. I'll list the builds that I've found to be the best at getting you wins.

PG - 2-way Slashing Playmaker (red/yellow, has a 67 three ball at best but will still go 7/7 on park and can get contact dunks)

SG - Offensive threat? (Most people just make another PG due to the greater amount of badges, but this is really a flex pick depending on what mode you play)

SF - Rebounding Wing (red/green, can guard every position well enough and shoots better than you)

PF - Paint Beast? (Another flex position where people either make their center build with better speed and shooting, or a floor spacing shooter)

C - Shooting Glass Lock (red/green, another build that doesn't look like it can shoot but will make you pay on boards and threes)

BADGES ARE KING: I continue to say it anytime I'm asked. Attributes matter of course, but to a certain extent. The more badges you've got that coincide with your build's play style, the better.

2kLab has multiple tests showing which badges are worth your time and they give an easy to read tier list to show which badges are top tier and which ones to pass on (even the ones that seem to fit your play style, due to them being so bad at their job.)

ATTRIBUTES TO FOCUS ON: Of course you need to put your attribute points into the areas that you want to capitalize on with the pie charts you've chosen. With that being said, here are the attributes where the exact number can determine which animations you can use.

The only ones I pay attention to the exact attribute number (due to animations being locked behind a threshold) are driving dunk/ standing dunk, ball handle to speed ratio, and driving layup (kinda).

Elite contact dunks unlock at 85 driving dunk, pro at 84, and big man at 50 driving 75 standing.

Pro dribble moves unlock at 70 ball handling and you can get tier three blow by animations looking at this chart Speed Boosting Requirements

You also get certain driving layup animations at 80, but the only good package is long athlete and on paint builds dominant big is good for getting push offs on standing layups.

Be sure to put any questions below and I'll see if I can answer them.

    Thanks for reading!
