2k Has Been Destroying Offline MyCareer For Years And Nobody Is Talking About It

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 04:59 PM PST

As a diehard 2k fan and MyCareer player, this is my little rant on what 2k has done over the years to diminish the features in offline MyCareer, and just MyCareer in general. As you will see, it has gotten far worse over the years:

    2K10-2K14 MyCareer (Last Gen)

    • Features present offline:
    1. Endorsements
    2. Cutscenes
    3. Purchase and equip shoes
    4. Purchase and equip accessories
    5. Purchase and equip animations
    6. Tattoos
    7. Upgrade badges

    2K14 MyCareer (Current Gen)

    • Features present offline:
    1. Endorsements
    2. Cutscenes
    3. Purchase and equip shoes
    4. Purchase and equip accessories
    5. Purchase and equip animations
    6. Tattoos
    7. Upgrade badges

*Player customization (head, hair, etc.) is extremely limited

    2k15 & 2k16 MyCareer

    • Features present offline:
    1. Endorsements
    2. Cutscenes
    3. Purchase and equip shoes
    4. Purchase and equip accessories
    5. Purchase and equip animations
    6. Tattoos
    7. Upgrade badges

    *No MyCourt customization in 2k16

    2k17 MyCareer

    • Features present offline:
    1. Endorsements
    2. Cutscenes
    3. Purchase and equip shoes
    4. Purchase and equip accessories
    5. Purchase and equip animations
    6. Tattoos
    7. Upgrade badges

    *No MyCourt customization

    2k18 & 2k19 MyCareer

    • Features present offline:
    1. Endorsements
    2. Cutscenes
    3. Purchase and equip shoes
    4. Purchase and equip accessories
    5. Purchase and equip animations
    6. Tattoos
    7. Upgrade badges

*In 2k19, you get a small selection of basic animations for dribble moves, dunks, etc. to choose from

    2k20 MyCareer

    • Features available offline:

None. There literally isn't an offline MyCareer mode in NBA 2k20.

So, as you can see, 2k has become so greedy and focused on money and cares so little about their offline players that they have reduced what is a single-player game mode down to literally nothing, as in the mode does not even exist anymore.

Oh, and here's the kicker: you can't even convert an online MyCareer save file to an offline file anymore. This was a feature present in every single 2k game up until 2k17. I can still use my 2k17 MyPlayers, with all their accessories and animations, because I converted them to offline files when the servers shut down. I'm assuming 2k removed this feature to make sure people keep on buying the new games.

This sucks for MyCareer players like myself, as well as anyone who enjoys going back and playing the older 2k games. But worst of all, it's the perfect example of just how greedy 2k has gotten.

Say goodbye to your 2k19 MyPlayers folks! Because you won't be able to use them anymore once the year is up.

    The logic of 2ks park

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 06:49 AM PST

If you get 5 points and maybe a rebound in a WIN: performance: "99.9"

If you get 18 points and and like 10 rebounds but you LOSE: performance: "95.1"

This build has been upsetting me by not finishing dunks that are contested even slightly so I was really happy when this happened

In a game that relies so heavily on timing (for jumpshots), how does one expect to green their shots consistently with the insane amount of lag?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 11:42 AM PST

Before anyone says "just fix your internet", i've played since 17 and the lag/general sluggishness of gameplay in online modes has only gotten worse. For THIS game only. I play other games and the online experience is so much better, there is virtually 0 input lag. Then I hop on 2k and go to the park and player movements are at least an entire second behind. When my player is running one direction and I change direction, it's so slow that it's like the equivalent of trying to steer a ship. NBA players don't run/move in slow motion in real life as if they have 25 lb weights strapped to their legs.

When i shoot the ball it's useless to try and focus on a "cue" for the release point because the online lag has players moving a whole second behind anyway. You've probably already missed your player's green release point by the time you even see your player go into a shooting motion at all on the screen. And it makes matters worse that the game is so unforgiving with the "full white" releases, even with a 90+ 3 point rating. Why is 2k such an incompetent company that the online experience is getting worse with each new release, not better?

A few years ago I posted in here about a new Mycareer idea.. a post from Blackhawk reignited the idea and I wanted to see what you guys thought about it. I added the link so you guys could see his original post!

    https://www.reddit.com/r/NBA2k/comments/fadnen/what_would_you_guys_like_added_to_nba_2k21/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app

A few years ago I posted on here an idea to rejuvenate mycareer. I'll try to keep it short but it was basically you can start your career in any era, 60s, 70s, 80s,90s, 2000s. It would open the game up SO much. Think about starting in the same draft class as Jordan, you could compete in the "combine" or whatever they had back then or play his nc team in the NCAA tournament, go into the nba and become his biggest rival instead of the bad boys.

How fucking cool would it be to start in the 03 draft class and compete with that legendary draft class. As far as the progression, it would take a lot but theoretically they could match up the moves the teams made as far as trades and shit. So when you started Steve Nash is a Mav, but years in he's an MVP caliber player for the suns.

This would bring in a new market of fans to 2k as well. Old heads would be sooooo thrilled to relive these legendary moments, but now they're part of it. Yeah, it'd be legendary lol.

To add to the idea, depending on your era would factor into the type of player your player was or add certain player types. For example 90s era would be the era of the high flyers, Vince, mj, tmac, Kobe. If you're in the 80s you could be a tweener like MJ, Uber athletic but tough as hell and physical. In the 70s you'd be a more finesse type player like pistol Pete and or Julius Irving.

Rank the soundtracks from the recent 2k games

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 11:35 PM PST

    1. 2k18. A lot of the songs are decent and I've saved some unto spotify.

    2. 2k17. I hate it but it really grows on you. 21st century life gang.

    3. 2k16. Pretty much 2k18 but I don't like a lot of the songs enough to save them. It also has Represent by Nas, top 10 all time for me.

    4. 2k20. Just because it has Skrawberries, Hear Me Calling, Legacy, and Big Shot.

    5. 2k19. Sicko Mode and Mo Bamba in the same game? Bruh. Does have Dark Knight Dummo and Stargazing tho.

Why is George Hill automatically dead cap on the Bucks?

    Posted: 27 Feb 2020 09:08 PM PST

He's just dead cap, even when he's on the team when you start. He's not dead cap IRL, they didn't waive, cut, or stretch him? It's really annoying, I even loaded another save to see if I had did something. And no, we're paying him his contract, and then he's also counted as dead cap in the very bottom?

It's just annoying. It affects the cap space of the team and I have no idea why

How do i stop doing a push dribble

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 02:21 AM PST

I use a shot creator with 89 ball handling and any time i try sprint with the ball my player does this weird extended push dribble instead of just dribbling normally. It has really been pissing me off cos it means i literally cannot handle the ball in online modes as id get ripped instantly. Anyone experienced the same thing before or am i pressing something thats triggering it?

Might've just found an insane slasher build, thoughts?...

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 01:56 AM PST

I play on a 7'3 pure slashing Center with 7 hall of fames and i get some ridiculous layups, so I was thinking about making a smaller version, so I was messing around with attributes and things like that, and I found out, with a 61 mid range for spacing, the 6'11 pure slashing center gets an 85 driving dunk. That's enough for ELITE contact dunks at 6'11! The badge pie I ended up with was 30/1/10/11. It's kind of a Giannis build and I might end up making it, what do you guys think of a 6'11 slashing build with elite contacts for rec?
