    Random big men for the record you are greatly appreciated. One problem I’ve had with a lot of random big men is they don’t really understand the pick and roll.

    As stated, big men who solo que in rec are appreciated greatly.

    First off, generally when playing with Randoms everyone is constantly running around like crazy which makes a pick and roll 1000 harder to run anyhow.

    But one simple aspect that is often overlooked, and misplayed is that:

    If the opposing center is not playing high (hedging, switching) there is no reason to roll. The pick and roll works by screening the on all defender which allows the ball handler to get into the paint or gives him an open shot. To prevent this, the man guarding the screener (in this case the center on the opposing team) has a couple of choices, he can stay low and let his guard try to fight through the screens (or play under the screen if the ball handler is not a great shooter) or he can play high to hedge/switch if the ball handler is a good shooter can shoot quickly and efficiently if the defender gets hit by the screen.

    When the center on the defending team has to come up high after the guard had been screened, this is when the roll presents it self. Because the opposing center is out of the paint, up on the perimeter contesting the ball handler from shooting. If the center is sitting in the paint; and is not playing high, you do not roll, I repeat, do not roll. Set the ball handler another screen until he gets an open shot. Maybe he will have to hit 2-3 in a row before the other center decides to hedge; at this point the roll pass will become available.

    Just wanted to put this out there, not trying to be an asshole or offend anyone. Just making it clear for anyone who doesn't understand.

    Plays barely execute in 2K20 and are almost rendered useless.

    In 2K18, I'd be able to run 3 point plays (Quick 3 Scissor, Quick 1 Elevator Rip, Quick 4 Horns Flare) and it would properly execute at least 80% of the time. The guys would cut, screen, and it would usually work and the guy would get open.

    I feel like 2K has nerfed the plays and I'm only able to execute them successfully about 20% of the time (if that). The off ball screens barely work, and the guys run and cut so awkwardly that the recipient of the play never gets open!!! Especially Quick 4 Horns flare. Though it is still effective for driving, the recipient of the 3 pointer never gets open.

    I run strictly 3 point plays and this has been my experience. It may be different for other types of plays though.
