Here’s my take on some badges in 2k21 Posted: 10 Sep 2020 09:03 PM PDT Title says it all. Also this isn't very badge in 2k21 but it's damn sure a lot of them. I play a lot of play now and park so I was just messing around with different teams in play now. The badges I think that are good or bad imo will probably help some the park players out there. Finishing: Contact and slithery finisher are still pretty good. Showtime didn't work for me. Dropstepper is a great badge who people who know how to move in the post. Backdown punisher works pretty well. Lob city finisher is just like catching lobs without the badge. Fancy Footwork is still op even with hop steps being nerfed. The last 2 are relentless and acrobat which are very good badges in my opinion. Playmaking: Floor general is good. Dimer is useful for the pass first guards. Quick first step is still op. Handles for days is great. Tight handles is great. Unpluckable still fucking sucks. Flashy passer is pretty good. Downhill is ok. Bail out is good. The last badge is space creator and it breaks more ankles than ankle breaker. Shooting: Hot zone hunter is incredible. Flexible release is good on like silver. Catch and shoot and corner specialist are amazing. Range extender is amazing. Volume shooter is amazing. Steady shooter is dog shit. Green machine is great. The last one is deadeye and it's ok for me. (My favorite.) Defense: Pogo stick is decent now since it got nerfed. Box and worm are good badges and are underrated. Rim protector is great. Heart Crusher is fucking god like. Rebound chaser is great. Interceptor is alright. Pick pocket is good if you know how to steal. Off ball pest is ok. Moving truck is very good. Post move lockdown is very good. Clamps is the second best defensive badge maybe even the best since intimidator got nerfed. Tireless defender is a great badge. Brick wall is still op. The last badge for defense was chase down artist and it's still op. I hope you liked the badges I guess. Have a good day. [link] [comments]

Don’t fall for the “skill gap” narrative! (It’s poor design) Posted: 10 Sep 2020 10:04 AM PDT Someone needs to tell the 2k devs about KISS. Not the band. Kiss. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. Complex does not mean difficult. Sales are down nearly 40 percent and their laziness and terrible decision making may be the culprit. The shot meter is poorly designed. Period. But 2k is promoting this narrative that it's a skill gap. But its inconsistent as hell and proves once again that 2k and its developers are incompetent. (They also made the notch the same color as the background of the meter, which makes the already too small notch, impossible to see if a defender is even close to you.) The shot stick meter rewards poor defense. If a player is at the apex of their shot and the defender is still on their feet closing out, the meter will dramatically shrink. Which should never happen under any circumstance. That's not how basketball works. Or physics. This flawed mechanic guarantees a badly missed shot even if the meter is directly in the center. The shot contest meter has been an issue for 2k since its conception. This year the poorly designed mechanic is at its worse, as it allows the CPU to score with no consequences while making the user miss perfectly fine layups with a weak 20% contest. The shot stick meter is fine in theory but fails miserably in practice. And that is mostly because of the broken shot contest meter. Taking a wide open jumpshot nearly always results in a miss no matter the users accuracy (on higher difficulty levels now) because of a weak last minute contest. For the shot meter to be successful, they need to dramatically nerf shot contest or design a new meter. Because both of these mechanics can not coexist peacefully in their current state. To make matters worse, once a player adds all the badges, and has a decent enough rating, they can not miss on the lower difficulty settings. They either do too much or not enough. They can never get it right because at the end of the day they don't want it to be about skill. Because they know people would be too good at it. I should not miss a perfectly centered shot but then make a shot that was barely in the yellow window. That should never happen with the shot stick. THE CLOSER YOU GET TO THE CENTER NOTCH THE HIGHER YOUR SHOT SUCCESS SHOULD BE. Is it really that difficult 2k? [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Sep 2020 01:39 PM PDT So I pre-ordered NBA 2K21 and was pretty satisfied with the game. I just got into NBA 2K20 when it was put on sale at the steam summer sale. I pretty much exclusively played MyCareer games, and I thought that the gamemode was really good and I enjoyed it a lot. The cut-scenes, the contract-negotiations, the interviews and the pre-draft gameplay. It really made it simulate a real life NBA-player life with the off-court side of the MyCareer. So when i got 2K21 I was pretty excited that the pre-draft gameplay went all the way back to High-School. And I honestly thought that they had added more content to the MyCareer gameplay. And that is the main reason why I am dissapointed in the MyCareer this year. No cutscenes, the contract negotiations have no cutscenes, there are no half-time or pre-game interviews. And honestly it seems like they removed most of the off-court activities. I don't know if I'm the only one who feels like this, but I still enjoy playing MyCareer and going to play in the neighborhood occasionally, but I really feel like most of the "career" aspect of the gamemode has disappered. unpopular opinion badges shouldnt be the main factor to decide what my player can and can't do... Posted: 10 Sep 2020 08:02 AM PDT petty much i think back to 2k14 and 13 with the skills set system,. you had your stats and you had your 7 skills. (early form of badges). and once you had the stats to do things, you could still play the game at a high level, the skills would just amplify that stat. fast forward to 2k21 and it seem like all that went out the window. if you have no badges you are getting barely anything done in the park or rec. im watching people with max badges play like idiots, over dribble and etc ( didnt they say over dribbling made for more misses) and green shots. mean while people who are taking smart open looks cant shoot, nor finish. and do other things. if you have a job, school or a life it seems like this game isnt catered to you just for those who euther grind the badges or glitched them. cause it seems like those are the people having the most fun. TLDR: 2k needs to make pure stats matter more and not let badges control every aspect of the game. allow it to boost in a way, but not take over [link] [comments] |
