Posted: 22 May 2020 12:46 AM PDT See people complaining too much about hop step and other stuff. Look if you try to play catch up on defense you will fail 8/10 times because you are limited by lateral movement and general speed, and even if you are pure lock you will still have disadvantage because that's defense this year. Last year we had defensive stopper badge that had you glued on offensive player and it was easy to stop people, which is not the case with 2k20. Defense this year is all about movement anticipation, so you need to read his setup dribble, know dribble animations, be familiar with opponents build capabilities ect. So on defense key is to positions yourself before ball handler make the move its not easy i know that's why defense is tough this year. You need clamps as high as possible on your player and if you make correct read ball handler will clamp himself. And if you try to react when ball handler already made move you will always be behind and that's why the hop step is OP to do when you want to pull out of defender who is already behind. Clamps work best when you are on the hip of the ball handler and with direct body contact when you cut off the drive. If you see the defender slightly blowing by fast tap LT/RT (like on a sprint drill) to catch up. If you see a hop step in paint stay close and don't jump for block (on his hop) and push hands up. If you stop it 50 % of time and held opponent under his avg ppg you already played good defense. Also if you guard "slasher" go under a screen as best you can, if you are guarding "shooters" over the screen every time, pick him up at the half court line, and give him 1 side only to where he can drive (side hip clamps). Why do we have to wait more than 1 minute to start playing every game? Posted: 22 May 2020 01:39 AM PDT Cutscenes, introductory scenes, not being able to set your defensive/offensive schemes beforehand, plus having to sit 5 seconds every time a time out is called to watch the gatorade add is just outrageous. I can't understand how does the community accept this, and it will get worse over the years so that they can boost their customer engagement metrics. I just want to turn on a basketball videogame and have fun playing it without going through all this. Am I asking for too much? :/ [link] [comments] | ||
