    Firstly, with the new 2k game being announced a lot of people are excited for new content since we haven't seen any in 2 years (way to set the bar high 2k) so a lot of people are probably inclined to purchase this game, but let me tell you why you shouldn't.

    Firstly, most of the player base on 2k plays MyCareer and not much else. With the release of 2k21 on current gen, we will all probably grind the hell out of our players while we wait for next gen consoles to come out so we can get it on there, only to find out that the game is 70 dollars on next gen for the regular edition? Not only that, but your mycareer progress doesn't carry over, so you're paying 70 dollars to start from scratch on a new player.

    This leaves you with one option unless you wanna pay 130 dollars for two new games. Get the legend edition. The legend edition is 100 dollars and comes with all sorts of useless cosmetics and the big grand prize of 100,000 VC, but most importantly if you buy the legend edition on current gen, you get the regular edition for free on next gen. So you're paying 100 dollars for two games instead of 130, and you get the benefits of the legend edition, the only problem with this is the main benefit of the legend edition, the 100k VC, is rendered useless by the fact that the mycarwer player progress won't even fucking carry over to next gen. The VC will though, so if you want to use your free 100k VC you have to save it and literally not upgrade your character until next gen comes out. Also, for myTeam players, the legend edition only comes with 10k myTeam credits this year as opposed to 50k.

    It seems that every single aspect of the release of this new game was designed to encourage you to spend the most money possible. 2K knows there are going to be a lot of people who buy the legend edition with the intent of getting it for free on next gen, then never end up getting a next gen console, therefore making them 40 extra dollars. Everything about this game is a fucking cash grab and it's disgusting and so disrespectful to the player base. Please hear me out on this and hopefully we can get a movement started to discourage these practices so they don't become a staple of the gaming industry.

    And after all that, this post doesn't even address the fact that we are being guilt tripped into preordering a 100 dollar game to honor a dead athlete (which is horrible exploitation of Kobe and his family honestly) when we don't even have any gameplay footage, for all we know this game still has the same snotty mechanics and lack of new content that the last two had.

    Does anybody else find it weird that this game is rated E for everyone, yet 2K is using really manipulative tactics to encourage purchasing?

    Today I saw a pop up right when the game started and it was for the $100 mamba forever edition 2k20 preorder. The only button is said you can press is A (x ps) to purchase it, and there's no indication on how to leave that menu. I can see a young child not knowing what to do, and purchasing the game

    Opinion: 2k's Use of Kobe on the Deluxe cover is despicable.

    First of all, I want to make sure everybody understands that making someone the cover of a video game does not honor their memory in any way. 2K is using your love of Kobe Bryant to sell a version of the game that you likely would not have bought to begin with.

    The only scenario in which I would be okay with this obvious cash gab is if 2k21 was akin to 2K11 (Jordan's 2k). IN 2K11, there were a couple of Jordan centered modes, and he was really the theme of the game. But, because Kobe isn't the main cover athlete (and Jordan was), I highly doubt 2K will do this.

    If 2K21 is just another boring old 2k that does nothing to pay tribute to Bean, I will never buy another 2K game again. 2k will have lost all of my respect.

    sorry for ranting this is j something that I feel passionately about.

    edit: after reading the thread here, I understand that Vanessa and the Bryant family are 100% ok with this. That being said, it still doesn't sit right with me that 2K is profiting off of a tragedy.

    This has probably been written thousands of times but the way 2k treats the PC community is honestly so sad. We are straight-up ignored majority of the time and don't get access to things like MyPlayer Nation and some events. The amount of cheaters in this game is honestly horrible. Every court has at least 1 or 2 cheaters on it and for a smaller community like the PC community in Australia, this is definitely a problem. There's not even a way to report them either 2k took that out.
    Now moving onto 2k21. I almost guarantee nothing is going to change with any of this and PC will continue to be ignored like always. Being limited to the current-gen game too is straight bs. 2k PC should be on the list for the next-gen game there really isn't a reason why they wouldn't do this. there is such a huge market on PC that 2k can tap into and gain a lot of easy revenue. They just need a better anti cheat to stop hackers and to make it crossplay these two things will literally fix the PC port of 2K.
    I know 2k ain't gonna do shit about this but it's nice to vent.
